Find a Club: Haddington Curling Club

About the Club

Our club was founded in 1846 and boasts members from all over Edinburgh and East Lothian. Our games are played in a competitive but friendly atmosphere.

We have members currently ranging from 20 – 60, but welcome curlers of any age (younger or older). We encourage our younger members to form their own teams to take on our more established players.

We run two leagues concurrently throughout the year and members are able to play in either or both depending on how much curling they want. We also have several different format games including Bonspiels, Skins, Pairs, Points and the always spirited Young v Old competition.

An important factor is to ensure that our members enjoy their curling and to have fun – although the skips would also say that winning is vitally important!

New Membership New members of all ages and abilities are welcome. Our qualified coaches are always available for help and advice.

Full and Reserve memberships are available to all new members. Juniors benefit from reduced membership and rates in some games.

We particularly welcome members and graduates of New Stones and ‘returning’ curlers.

Social Events The social aspect of the club is very important to us, and we have regular supper nights after the games at Murrayfield and a ‘President’s Drinks Party’ at the start of the new season to welcome new and returning members.

In the off season, we have activities such as bowling, barbecues and indoor ‘New Age Kurling.’ Our annual dinner and prize giving at the Open Arms in Dirleton is the social highlight of the season.
