Capital League Skins Night
Our annual Capital League Skins Night took place on Saturday 22nd March.
12 teams took to the ice, playing six one-end games in the Skins format, with a variety of prizes available to the winners of each Skin. To win a Skin, the team with Hammer has to score at least two points, or the team without Hammer has to steal a point. If the team with Hammer only scores 1 point or the end is blanked, then the winner is decided by a draw shot challenge.
On top of the usual Skins prizes, Niall and Graham Gunn decided to repurpose the Gunn Goblet as a new trophy for this event. Niall presented the trophy to the winning team.
A fun couple of hours flew by and the deciding result came down to the last shot of the last game. Emerging victorious and lifting the trophy after winning the most Skins was Team Stretton, pictured below. Congratulations to Morna Aitken, Fran Stretton, Vicky Gumley, and Jenny Barr.
After the curling we all enjoyed a chicken curry by Embo Catering followed by the prizegiving ceremony. The evening continued long into the night with lots of fun and chat. A great way to finish the season, in the true spirit of curling.
Thanks go to Aaron Forsythe for organising the event, doing the scoring, and sorting out the prizes whilst everyone else was having fun.
