Letter from the Murrayfield Ladies Centre

Dear Lady Curler,

At present, Murrayfield Ladies Centre represents curlers who are members of ladies curling clubs. The Centre therefore excludes women who only play in a mixed club. Perhaps that is you? The Ladies Centre would like to find out how much interest there is in its membership being extended to include women in mixed clubs. Our proceeding may require us to make constitutional changes.

Here are some of the reasons why you might like to join the Ladies Centre.

  1. Representation at Scottish Curling (RCCC) level – you would have a voice.
    • The Murrayfield Ladies Centre President sits on the RCCC Ladies Branch Committee, which has one representative from each ice rink in Scotland. The Ladies Branch committee deals with all matters related to Ladies Curling in Scotland. It also has representation on all the RCCC committees. Thus, being a member of Murrayfield Ladies Centre allows you, via the President, to influence Ladies Curling in Scotland.
    • It keeps you informed about current and future developments within curling both at a national and international level.
  2. Play in Ladies Centre Competitions
    • Being a member of the Ladies Centre allows you to play in the Ladies Centre competitions.
    • The President’s Pitcher
    • Ladies Centre Bonspiel in November
    • Ladies Seniors Competition on Fridays at 12:05 from October – December
    • Fulton Salver in March
  3. Attend the Ladies Centre AGM & RCCC Ladies Branch AGM

The annual cost of joining the Murrayfield Ladies Centre is currently £5.00.

If you are interested in joining the Ladies Centre, and I hope you will, please email me by Friday 30th March; your interest will support a constitutional change.

With kind regards

Gillean Hoehnke
EMCLCC Secretary
